Absolutely incredible lunch at The Edge Cafe - one of the best chowders we have ever had, the soda bread was perfect, and a unique authentic experience with amazing views. Fiona has an exceptional cafe and we are so happy we found it!
What a gem of a find. We were recommended the fish chowder and it was served puppies by hot with soda bead and tasted delicious . Daughter had Welsh rarebit which was tasty and super rich and she couldn't eat it all. Husband then had sticky toffee pudding with cream and it was an adequate portion which meant he could eat it all and not waste any. Always a bonus. The craft rooms are incredible with so many local artists work of all sorts. Toilets and plenty of parking available. Outside tables with incredible views. Fiona the owner will stop and chat with you if she is not busy. Definitely time slows down here while you while away a couple of hours chatting, eating and drinking with a little bit of light music in the background and gorgeous views. Heaven
We booked for an evening meal, 3 courses, and as I am coeliac we let Fiona know in advance, she adapted everything to suit gluten free. Amazing sticky toffee pudding. Food was outstanding, really want her recipe for her mushroom soup. Very friendly atmosphere. And Fiona is a wonderful host. There is also a craft shop there as well with an extensive range from local crafters. Well worth a visit, for meals I suggest calling ahead of time and arranging with Fiona.
We’re so glad we came to The Edge and only wish we had found it sooner into our stay. Fiona was lovely, and prepared us an excellent Welsh rarebit for lunch. It was great to sit at a communal table with others from all over, and chat with new friends. Can’t wait to come back again! Thanks, Fiona!
We popped in just for a drink but left wishing we hadn’t already eaten — the food looked (and smelled) incredible, and came highly recommended by the other customers. Lesson learned for next time! The cafe itself is small and cosy, with just one big communal table. As a couple who usually keep to ourselves, we were a little unsure at first — but it turned out to be a real highlight. We ended up chatting with a few locals and fellow visitors, and the atmosphere was genuinely warm and welcoming. The coffee was spot on, and the cake we shared was delicious. Add in the stunning views, and it really made for a lovely little stop. We’ll definitely be back — and next time, we’re arriving hungry!
Omgosh this was such a impressive experience. Fiona cooked so good for us. I never ate the dishes before that she cooked. Thank you for this lovely evening 3 It's definitely worth stopping by and having a look in the shop too #glutenfree options there
Lovely little Cafe, had to go to door to check it was open. But really glad I did. Little gift shop. It's a little Cafe Run by the Community. Fiona was really nice and made everything fresh, including Chouder for two and a Sandwich for one.
„The Edge“ Cafe is definitely not your regular Cafe but that’s exactly the reason why you should stop for a visit. There is no fixed menu but rather a board with suggestion what she could cook from scratch for you depending on the ingredients available. So I would suggest it’s best to just talk to Fiona to find out what she could make for you. We had the most amazing sea food chowder with great home baked bread. Instead of separate tables they have a big community table where everyone sits together. Next to the cafe area you can also find two other rooms with crafts & arts from various local artists that you can buy there.
